Isla Mujeres is generally a very safe place, but we ask that you use caution with your money and your valuables. Each condo has its own safe, which we encourage you to use. We have 24 hour security guards on the premises at each entry point to the grounds.

The tap water is safe for showering, brushing teeth and washing dishes. We provide purified bottled water in each condo. Please use this purified water for cooking, drinking, and making ice. A small bottle of Microdyne is provided to treat the water to disinfect fruits and vegetables. Inform the staff when you need another 5 gallon bottle of purified water and they will bring one to your condo.

Is it safe to eat in the island restaurants?
Most restaurants on the island use purified water and are safe to eat in. If you have questions, the office staff can recommend good restaurants that use only purified water for their making their ice and drinks.
Caution is advised when purchasing food from street vendors. If you are uncertain about whether a particular street vendor or restaurant is a good choice for dining, please ask the staff at the office.
What clothes should we bring?
Isla Mujeres is a casual island. Bring shorts, t-shirts, bathing suits, cover-ups, sandals, waterproof sun block and a hat and sunglasses - especially for children. From November to March, bring at least one set of warmer clothing and a light jacket for cool evenings.
What can we expect when we arrive?
NOTE: All Americans traveling by air or sea need a passport to visit Mexico, Canada and the countries of the Caribbean. For more information please call the U.S. National Passport Information Center.
On the plane, you'll be instructed to fill out a FMT (2-part, tourist visa) and a Customs declaration form.
Present the FMT with your passport at Immigration. The officer will stamp both parts with the number of days you can stay in Mexico (usually 30 days or less) and return the 2nd part to you, which you must have to leave Mexico.
Reclaim your luggage.
Present your declaration form at Customs. You will be asked to push a button – a green light means you can continue on, a red light means they'll search your luggage
How do we get from the airport to Isla Mujeres?
After you leave Customs, walk into a large lobby where you can purchase tickets (in pesos or U.S. dollars) for your transportation to the UltraMar ferry located at Grand Puerto
A private taxi directly to GranPuerto costs approximately $55.00 U.S. (1 - 2 people) and takes 20 -30 minutes to get to the UltraMar ferry dock.
Shuttle vans are less expensive, but the ferry dock is usually the last stop, and we cannot guarantee how long the trip will take.
We recommend Luxury Van Transportation, a private van service, from the airport to the UltraMar ferry at Grand Puerto. Please reserve your van, mentioning Nautibeach to receive a discounted rate, no less than three days prior to departing for your vacation. Email to: luxuryvan@gmail.com
The ferry from the mainland to Isla Mujeres costs approximately $3.50 US one way. The trip takes about 20 minutes. The express ferry boats go to and from the island every ½ hour until late at night.
How do we get from the airport to Isla Mujeres?
When you arrive at the ferry dock on Isla Mujeres you can turn left and walk the five blocks to Nautibeach. A taxi will cost about $2 US.
Upon your request, we can have Fidel, a favorite of our guests, greet you at the dock and transport your luggage to the condos in his three wheel bicycle. His income is solely based on tips from people using his service.
When you arrive at the condos, you will check in at the onsite office. Official check-in time is 3 P.M. Please provide us with your airline arrival time as we try to have units ready for guests arriving early. If you arrive after the office is closed, the security guard will have your name and will give you the key to your condo. You can register the following morning at the office.
Generally it takes about 1½ -2 hours to reach Nautibeach Condos from your arrival time into the Cancun airport.
Where and how do I exchange money?
The money exchanges at the airport offer very poor exchange rates. You can use U.S. currency to pay for the transportation to Isla, any tips you may give, the ticket for the ferry trip to Isla and tipping Fidel or taking the taxi to the condos.
We recommend you wait until you reach Isla to exchange your American dollars for pesos. The HSBC Bank is directly across the street from the ferry dock. They are open Monday through Saturday, and they have two ATM machines. The 7-11 and San Francisco Grocery store also have ATMs. There are several money exchange booths in town. Traveler's checks and U.S. currency are easily exchanged. Credit cards are accepted in many restaurants but not all. Currency is still the best method of paying for everything.
